How To Install T Post Corners

An inevitable part of homesteading is fencing.  If you lot aren't putting it up, you're repairing, upgrading or vehement it down.  The type of fencing that you use is going to depend on what y'all're keeping in/out, what resources are available and what function of the state you're in (following local tradition).

We're going with t-posts and field fencing for our pastures.  We also put a single line of electric along the lesser of the fence.

The basis here is very sandy.  Nada stays straight/anchored for long in the soil.  We've establish that railroad ties, cached 3 feet in the basis will lean with the weight of the debate come Spring fourth dimension.  They aren't working equally corner anchors for us.  So, I idea I'd try t-post corners.  Even if they lean, they're easier to re-install than a railroad tie.

Below is a t-post corner before the field fencing has been installed…

The brackets are Wedge-Loc brackets.

The commencement thing to practise is bulldoze in a t-post in each corner of the planned pasture.

You'll demand an additional four t-posts at every corner.  Accept two t-posts and lay them downward at the corner t-postal service, pointing in the direction of the adjoining corners.  Do your best to line them up accurately.

Drive in a t-mail 12 to 16 inches brusk of the tips of these t-posts.  Yous might exist worried nearly the orientation of the t-post.  The important affair is that they face up the aforementioned direction or are right angles to each other.  If a t-postal service goes in the ground and twists, you can twist it back with a pipe wrench.

Start with a loop of baling wire…

Use a stick, pipe or whatever to tighten the loop.  Put the stick inside the loop, perpendicular to the wires.  Spin the stick until the wire is taught.  Permit the stick balance against the diagonal t-mail…

Do the other side…

All washed.

Time to install the field fence.

You may find that the side posts lean in toward the corners.  That should go away equally y'all install the fencing.  I use the side posts as anchors when I apply a come-along to pull the argue tight.  This holds them in place.
